Chris Barton is born-and-raised Calgarian whose culinary journey has taken him to acclaimed kitchens around the world, notably to Paris, where he continued his education and discovered a true passion for food. His culinary philosophy is ingredient-focused and based on a thoughtful use of technique that lets the ingredients shine. His dishes delight the senses - texture, flavour, and the visual combine to create an experience that is delicious and multi-layered.
His menu pulls inspiration from the history of the region and from the original inhabitant of the house, Captain Richard Burton Deane. The Deane House culinary team connects daily with local farmers and ranchers. The menu features an ever-changing array of ingredients bringing history to life in celebration of a new Canadian cuisine.
